Write and edit with honest feedback

Use Keplar to critique drafts, tighten text, find vague sentences and test an argument, while keeping your voice and verifying the facts.

Updated

Most writers do not need an assistant to write for them. They need a patient reader who points out where the draft is unclear, long, one-sided or unsupported. That is a more reliable use of AI than generating text, and it keeps the voice yours.

What to ask for

  • Clarity: "List every sentence that is vague or could mean two things."
  • Length: "Shorten by 20% without losing any claim."
  • Structure: "What is the main point, and which paragraphs don't serve it?"
  • Argument: "Give the three strongest objections to this argument."
  • Tone: "Rewrite for a [audience] in a [tone], keeping facts the same."
  • Facts: "List every factual claim so I can verify each."

Ready-to-use versions are in the writing prompts.

Why a panel helps with feedback

Feedback from one model reflects that model's tastes and blind spots. Several models critique differently, and where they agree on the same weakness, it is probably real. Where one raises an objection the others miss, the Disagreements section shows it as a separate position and you decide whether it matters. A single model asked to be honest may still flatter you, which is why independent responses are useful. See Why does AI agree with everything you say?.

A workflow

  1. Write the draft yourself.
  2. Ask for one kind of feedback at a time.
  3. Fix issues in your own words.
  4. Ask for the claim list and verify each claim against a source.
  5. Read it aloud.
  6. Stop before the draft loses its character.

Facts and citations

Models can alter meaning when they polish, invent quotations and produce references that do not exist. Keplar does not open or check sources, and sources models cite are labeled as unchecked. Compare any edited passage to your original and verify facts yourself.

School and work rules

If you write for a class, a publisher or an employer, follow their rules on AI help and disclose when required. AI-text detectors are unreliable, so do not treat them as proof either way.

Where it falls short

Style is subjective. A panel can agree on a bland edit. Keep a short style guide of your preferences and paste it in. For anything important, have a person read it too.
