Studying works when you retrieve information from memory, not when you reread it. Study mode is designed around that: it takes the material you give it and turns it into things to practice.
What Study mode does
You paste notes or upload a PDF, a text file or other material. Keplar reads the text and builds an outline, flashcards, quizzes and answers to your questions about it. The extracted text, the study set and your progress are stored in your account until you delete the set. The original file is not kept. Study mode is included on every plan: Free uses free open models with smaller limits, and paid plans use stronger models with bigger limits.
A routine that works
- Read first, then write. Skim the chapter and write what you remember without looking.
- Build the set. Upload your notes and ask for a set focused on the topics your exam covers.
- Test yourself. Answer each quiz question before revealing the answer.
- Review the misses. Ask for a different explanation of the ones you got wrong, then explain it aloud without the screen.
- Space it out. Come back to the missed questions after a day, then after several days.
- Check against the course. Compare definitions and formulas with your textbook or lecture notes.
Good prompts for this
From the prompt library: "Quiz me, then grade me" asks one question at a time and waits for your answer. "Find the gaps in my explanation" lets you explain a topic and receive critique without a rewrite.
What to watch out for
- Scanned documents. Text inside scanned images may not be read well. A clean text version works better.
- Wrong or missing facts. A study set is only as good as the notes and the model. Verify anything that matters against your course material.
- Passive use. If you are reading answers instead of producing them, you are not studying yet.
- Academic rules. Follow your school's policy on AI assistance. Study mode is for practice, not for submitting work.
What Keplar does not do
It does not know your syllabus unless you provide it, does not predict exam questions, and does not guarantee accuracy. Free-plan prompts may be logged by free model hosts, so avoid pasting private material there.
